I have an image I shot using an iPhone in the panorama mode. I would like to use my Elements 13 to remove the convex of the altar. I know that I can use PSE to make a pano from several images and how to reduce the convex but am perplexed when using an image already shot as a pano. All suggestions will be appreciated especially if step by step instructions are provided. Thanks. Here is the image

I wonder if using skew (Move Tool option) might help. I’d try grabbing each upper corner and pulling it out and downward. Having the grid on will help you keep things straight. You will need to worry about keeping those columns straight. You don’t have much leeway for skewing - your photo is already pretty straight. It’s a very nice photo as is, but it’s always fun to play with our photos.
Realize - as you pull the corners out of shape, you will ultimately lose some of your photo because you will need to crop it from it’s irregular shape to a rectangle.
Make sure to work on a copy of your photo.

Thanks. As I use the Camera Distortion tool frequently, that was one of my first attempts to correct the image. But, it alters the other aspects of the image and not just the altar.

I have tried to skew the image and even so far, while playing, did a cut/paste of the altar singularly as a layer by itself and had decent results just not ideal. Thanks

Have you tried Free Transform (Ctrl-T)? Press down the Ctrl key while dragging the corner handles in the direction appropriate to correct the convex problem. It helps to have the Grid turned on.

If you have a Mac, you can still get DXO perspective 1.06 for free.

Just another thought. I'm not sure what your ultimate plans are for this image, but sometimes we can be our toughest critics. I think cleaning it up a bit by removing the sign on the altar, the protruding armrests and cropping off part of the left to create a more symmetrical image would improve the overall look. Frank has given you a nice option for addressing your original concern if Sepiana and Janice's suggestions didn't work for you.
