I want to copy a small area from the top right corner and replace the top left corner. What I tried doing is using the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" on the top right corner and copy that selection. My problem is I do not know how to copy that corner. I went to the Select option at top but from there I am lost. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Charles,
Try this, . . .
1. Make your selection (Rectangular Marquee tool). 2. Activate the Move tool. 3. Hold down the Alt key. 4. Drag your selection to where you want it.
NOTE: If you keep the Alt key pressed down while dragging the selection, you are telling Elements to duplicate (copy) the selection.

Thank you Sepiana. One thing I forgot to add was how to rotate the selection 90 degrees. I did just try your selection, but I did not think about another problem you will see in my work below. How difficult will it be to fix the different shade from right side to left? I may have to leave it alone?

Charles, this alternative will give you more editing flexibility. 1. Make your selection. 2. Ctrl-J to place it on its own layer. 3. Ctrl-Click on the selection layer thumbnail, not on the layer name. This will load your selection; you will see marching ants around it. 4. Go to Select>Feather and enter 1-3 px for the Feather Radius. 5. With the selection still active, duplicate/drag it to where you want (Alt + Move Tool). 6. Bring up the Transform command (Ctrl-T). 7. Enter the angle of rotation you want. NOTE:Most of the time a feather of about 1-3 px will do. Sometimes you will have to raise the feather radius to about 5 px or even higher; it all depends on the nature of the image. If necessary, do a quick touch-up to fine-tune the selection edges with the Clone Stamp, Spot Healing, or the Healing Brush tool.

When I bring up the Transform Tool CTRL-T I get this: How/where do I put in the angle I want to rotate?

After you do Ctrl-T, go to the Tool Options area at the bottom of the workspace. You will see the Angle setting; just enter 90 in the Degrees box. (See the screen shot in my previous post.)

Thank you, I found it.
The problem is, is that my selection from the right top corner all looks like one solid color.
This may be above my ability to do this job.
Thank you Sepiana for trying to help me.

Charles, you can do it. I believe in you! I am afraid this may be the root of the problem. I want to copy a small area from the top right corner and replace the top left corner. Instead, . . . - Make the selection of an area adjacent to the top left corner, where the repair is needed. - Don't make a big selection; a small one will do. Just enough to cover the "problem" area. Another possibility, . . . change the selection blending mode to Color and reduce the Opacity if necessary.

I would approach this another way. Since the plain colored outline around the photo is off center anyway, I’d crop the photo - cutting away as little of the flowered background as I could but just enough so the problem area was trimmed away.
If I still wanted a plain outline around the outer edge of the photo, I’d put a new slightly larger layer beneath the photo and color it a complimentary color.

If Inspeqtor prefers to keep the original border with its "aged" look, he could do this. 1. Select an area of the border and create a pattern (Edit>Define Pattern from Selection). 2. Create a blank layer. 3. Apply a stroke to this layer (Edit>Stroke (Outline) Section). 4. Do Edit>Fill Selection.

Try this two step process FotoFrank, I understand your 2nd suggestion. That I can do fine. It has been a decade or more since I used the Clone Stamp tool.... I used to use that alot! How do I change the size of the Clone Stamp tool? Right now my Clone Stamp Tool is very small. Also what area of the photo did you find the flower you used in your first suggestion? I do know when using the Clone Stamp Tool to do the flower I will have to redo the edges as doing the cloning will cover much of what I did here. Thank you!

You change the size of the Clone Stamp brush in the Tool Options area by adjusting the Size slider or by using the square bracket keys -- [ (to decrease the brush size) and ] (to increase it).

Sepiana, Thank you for the [ ] information. Frank, I was looking at the same area myself to use that for replacement! Another question has now come up. In playing around with the Clone Tool, Sepiana said to use CTRL Alt which I have done to SELECT the area I want to use.... but when I move up to the corner after placing it where I want it, then when I move my mouse around I see other areas of the picture within the circle of the Clone stamp, such as the baby hands. How do I erase that from memory? I just now sorta kinda finished the project, but I did not use the Clone stamp I used the other method of using the Rectangular Marguee Tool. I do see a tiny difference in color of the background, but really I only see that when I zoom in to the corner with Elements shown below.
