Actually, as soon as you use the Snipping Tool it is on the clipboard, so there's no need to save the image to the desktop. That may be so but you can't go into the Tiny Pic Host site and use the Snipping Tool can you,,,, and turn right around and open it up in PSE as one action? ?? That's the big concern I have. dick I don't see how this can be done "as one action".
If this is what you want, you could check uploading your images to Adobe Revel, the online services I mentioned earlier in this thread. This is one of the changes in Elements 11. You can do it all from within Elements. You can also access Revel directly via its website.

MajorMajor, Your work-flow eliminates saving the snip and this is new to me. Thanks for sharing. I should like to point out to the uninitiated that the snip tool allows one to be selective as to the content that is captured, i.e. it behaves much like a crop tool. It clearly does not behave like the PrtScr command, which captures the entire screen.

Sepiana - Yes, that's correct. Try it: do a snip without saving (don't close the snipping tool), then open PSE and choose new from clipboard. Fantastic! I didn't know you could do that either. I'm curious, though, MM, as to why you state not to close the snipping tool? As the image 'Snipped' is immediately on the clipboard, I tried closing Snipping Tool before putting into PSE and it still worked. As I said, just curious ... Many thanks for this 'new' tip Julie

It clearly does not behave like the PrtScr command, which captures the entire screen. I believe you can also be selective with the PrtScr command (up to a certain extent). This command allows you to capture the entire screen or a specific active window. According to this Microsoft document -- windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/take-screen-capture-print-screen#take-screen-capture-print-screen=windows-7 Unfortunately, neither the Snipping tool nor the PrtScr command will allow Dick to accomplish what he wants to do -- all "as one action". I believe his best option is to use Adobe Revel, which is integrated with the version of Elements he has (version 11).
As a side note -- Adobe Revel replaces the now defunct photoshop.com, the online service which was integrated with previous versions of Elements. Adobe Revel was introduced in Elements 11, as part of the big makeover Adobe did to this program.

Just adding some more information.
This screen shot shows how Adobe Revel is integrated into Elements 11. As you can see, it is all done within this program -- export to Revel and import from Revel.

Taking this a step further, re Snipping and then New -> Image from Clipboard ... I have just Right clicked on an image on the interest, clicked on 'Copy Image', then in PSE, New -> Image from Clipboard and, there you are ... the image straight into PSE Having said that, the size of the file is relative to the image on the internet, of course.

,,,,,,,,,now I have a question. Thats dangerous right up front. ..... Is it possible to reach out to an online Storage, ie: Tiny Pic and grab image with PSE Editor or must it be located in the computer My Picture's? dick Dick,
I am going back to your original post because I just thought of something. Give this a try.
1. Click on the image you want to grab at Tiny Pic. 2. Hold your cursor down. (The cursor will change into a circle with a diagonal line across it.) 3. Drag and drop the cursor onto the Elements desktop shortcut. 4. Say OK to this question.
5. The Editor will open with the image in the workspace.
NOTE: I used this technique to grab this image of mine I had posted at postimage.org and here it is.

Sepiana That doesn't seem to work for me Interestingly enough, the cursor changes to Move + indication when on the PSE shortcut but merely opens PSE, not with the image displayed. However, if I drag the image into the open workspace, it will load there.

Press alt-printscreen with the picture as large as you can see it on your monitor. In PSE Editor New>From clipboard ? The picture will be 72dpi this way and you will have to give it a name when you save it. View the picture you want to copy Press Alt and Prt Scr (Print Screen) at the same time (On my computer Prt Scr is a button on the topmost row towards the righthand side) Open PSE Editor File > New > Image from Clpboard You now have the image in the Editor. Crop away any parts of the screen you don't want and then you can do whatever else you need to do to it and save it. Then you can do whatever you want to do with it as usual.

Okay ChrissAnn that worked fine ,however, one is then faced with croping away unwanted data, Julie's method bypasses any of that. Sepiana I didn't get the dialog box. I will try again.

I don't know if this makes any difference or not but my shortcut launches the Editor directly. How do you have your shortcut set up?
