That is a very creative extension of the effect Lillias. Subtle and provocative.

I'm definitely addicted to this effect. Blame it on fotofrank ! - Created the border with a Custom Shape. - Applied a texture by FrenchKiss (Mystic Morning, Luminosity blending mode, 40% Opacity). - Applied Topaz Simplify (BuzSim). - Image from Pixabay.

These have been extremely creative and well done! Thanks to all who have taken the time to try it and post- looking forward to see more.
Karen - Thanks for getting it started with a great image.
Helen - the effect works well your images.
Clive - Thanks for posting - it is very similar and a very creative take on the tutorial.
Sepiana - Great tweaking on all of the image you posted, the edge effects add a lot of depth to your images.
Lillias- Your first post as a 3-D effect to it. Your second appears to have combine a couple of my tutorials - very well done. The third image went to a whole other level.
Pete - Both of your images in the challenge seem to me to work very well with this tutorial.

I like this tutorial! I kinda got off track trying different effects and lost most of the drop shadow, but like what resulted, so here it is! (click for full-size image)

I can't resist The Call of the Blurred Border. I'm addicted! - Applied the Mosaic Tiles filter (Darker Color blending mode, 50% Opacity). - Applied a Bevel layer style to the stroke (Scalloped Edge). - Image from Pixabay.

That looks like a frame I might see in a gift shop, Lillias. I especially like the way the palm tree extends over the photograph.
