Although there were not as many entries this week, those that were submitted are all worthy of mention for Image of the Week. I really enjoyed seeing so many beautiful floral images, one of my favourite subjects. Here are my favourites: Flower Power by Kathy LeeFlower Power by Kathy Lee, on Flickr I absolutely love flower pictures and this one really caught my eye. I like the way the veins show up in the petals with the back lighting, and the soft colours in the background African Elephant by Dan DellaChiesaA great example of ‘Less is More’, this is a great close up and beautifully processed to show the old jumbos crusty hide and wrinkles Summer Evening Scene in Tokyo by SydneyWhat a lovely colourful image, that little hole in the wall eatery looks so inviting. Did you eat there? Zinnia by tpgettysAnother floral beauty, I like the way you have repeated the flower pattern for your background, and the colours just pop. This would make a pretty greeting cardAnd having said I love flowers, its not surprising that my choice for Image of the Week is Poppy in Sunset by MadameThe poppy is such a simple uncomplicated flower but one of the most beautiful in my mind. I love the vibrant colour and sharpness, what a stunning capture Marianne

Thanks for the nod Pauline! Marianne, your poppy definitely is a worthy IOW! There were some fine images this week, that's for sure.
Actually, I did use my image for a greeting card. The flowers in the background were really there, so I just had to select the one and replace the colors with the complement of the Orange, a favorite technique.

Perhaps you could share this technique at some time as a Creative Effects Tutorial.
There was probably one at the old EV, but I got caught out when it closed prematurely and had not managed to save so many of the great tuts. Lesson learned, now when I see something I think I will use in the future I immediately copy it to OneNote, I already have a few tuts and tips in my library.
