whippet, two different interpretations. I like your thinking out of the box -- "My legs transport me". Very clever!

When I need help getting to the land of nod, this stuff helps to transport me there. Jacki, going out of the box here. Very creative interpretation of Transportation. Nicely done!

Berengaria , what a finding! A very old van next to a barely standing building. Beautiful image!

Mother Nature's ingenious transportation system for distribution of thistle seeds far and wide. I tried in vain to get a shot of the tiny parachutes in flight, but it was just too breezy and they were off, up and away. Dennis Dennis, this takes top honors for an ingenious interpretation of this theme and a great job capturing Mother Nature’s work. I really like the fill-the-frame composition.

Lots of variety of transportation so far so I'll add a couple of marine transportation taken on the St Clair River. First is the Ojibway a Canadian registered bulk carrier en route from Thunder Bay to Detroit. Not sure of the cargo although usually she's a grain carrier. Built in 1952, 195 meters long and a capacity of 21,000 tonnes. Second is the USCGC Hollyhock based in Port Huron Michigan and does everything from ice breaking to buoy laying and law enforcement to keep the Great Lakes marine transportation running. Tony Tony, great finding -- two examples of marine transportation. And, as usual, sharp images with clear details.

hmca , the viewpoint you used (looking down at the truck) made all the difference. A visually appealing composition!

Here's my find this morning ... notice that I actually left the city limits. ;-) Thanks for the theme Sepiana!! Bill, glad you left the city limits to find these two jewels. Great job capturing their old beauty! The details are amazing.

One more shot ... just for good measure. Bill, you really have a knack for this kind of shot. I love its grunge look. A job well done (as usual)!

And one more for good measure too - ran into this antique method of transportation today - technology has improved a lot since this was last used. Tony Tony, yes, indeed, it has come a long way. What a finding! I just keep going back to your image. Great capture!

I visited my Sister this week in Western Colorado, and one day we spent in and near the Colorado National Monument. This will have to be my contribution for "transportation" - landscape is my preferred style of photography. I just happened to be shooting at this spot when these 2 came motoring through, and I thought "Hmmm... Transportation theme this week." Rick, what an impressive interpretation -- colorful, sharp, well-composed! Beautiful image. Frame and hang it on the wall. As a side note, . . . thanks for the memories! I have hiked at the Colorado National Monument quite a few times. That's how I remember it -- bright blue sky, red rocks, amazing vistas.
