Helen,
That is the oldest surviving Headstone in the Simsbury, CT cemetery. A couple of years I did a digital preservation project in that cemetery and with the help of a few photographers we photographed almost 4000 markers. A digital database was also created and it has help a number of people find their relatives.
I now know more about tombstones that I ever wanted to know.

That looks like a beautiful family plot, Dennis. I like the way you chose to compose it. It is interesting to see the newer grave between the old.
I am really enjoying seeing the pictures submitted for this challenge.

I like how you have used lighting to enhance the mood for each of your images, Tony. As I have done with other submissions to this thread; I googled Colma and discovered that it is known world-wide as the City of Souls. As I said in response to Dennis' post, I am enjoying following up on the different images submitted to this challenge. Thanks for adding the additional pictures. |
