Not very creative but I was playing around with the Capture Extension in Photoshop CC that, among other things, can be used to create patterns based on the image - so that's what I did for a background, added a Jodi frame and this was the result.. Tony Tony, I find it very creative! You got the right amount of Scale/Rotation in your pattern (not overwhelming). I really like it.

- Ran my Pencil Sketch action. - Brought some of the original color back at 40% Opacity. - Applied a texture by FrenchKiss (Painterly Bijoux, Normal blending mode, 100% Opacity).

kdcintx , great idea and execution -- a jigsaw puzzle! I really like the 3D look and the colorization. Which technique did you use to get those shades of blue? I used one of your twirl actions then inverted the colors for the background layer. I think I used a color blend mode on the foreground layer prior to running the puzzle action. Already deleted the psd file and that's the best I can remember.

Added the flowers to the fan using a displacement map.......changed the tones of the flowers using a hue/saturation adjustment layer. Background image from Stocksolo.

I didn't do much to this. I created my own texture with a tutorial by Matt K. and used it as an overlay. Judy, I really like this. The texture goes so well with the colors of the starter image. A warm look!

- Created the pattern with Capture, a Photoshop extension. - Took the file into ON1 Photo RAW (Rich Glow). - Image from Pixabay.

Very nice starter. Thanks Sepiana. Rita, you got a work of art here; perfect for a note card. How did you create the background? It's very original. Thank you Sepiana. I can't take credit for the background, it's an abstract texture that I believe originally came from MorgueFile.

Helen, I think this is an excellent result for a displacement map and a good type of design to use them with. Looks like you've figured them out.
I also often find them difficult to apply, especially with largish and fairly solid design elements.

Rita, it's OK. You still deserve the credit for your choice of background. It goes really well with the starter image.
