Thank you Helen for the last RAW Challenge. It was difficult but enjoyable. The Challenge this time round is really quick and easy and it’s in two parts. The first part takes place in the Quick Edits side of PSE - a place I very rarely visit. The second part is back in the Expert mode of PSE and this is where I ask you to use your own imagination. OK, first part of the challenge...
Open an image in PSE and click on Quick in the top menu to take it into the Quick Edits. At the bottom of the right hand panel you will see several icons...click on ‘fx Effects’ and when that panel appears look down the list till you come to Lithograph.
Hover your mouse over it and you will see a drop down arrow appear - click that and you will be given the choice of 5 different Lithograph effects. Make your choice and when you are happy click on Expert at the top of your screen to take your amended image back into the Expert mode of PSE.
Back in PSE if you look at your layers panel you will see the thumbnail of your original image and above that you will see the thumbnail of your image with the Lithograph effect applied and also a layer mask.
If you want, you could use a brush on the layer mask to reveal back parts of the original and also if you feel like it you can try different blend modes to blend the lithograph into the original, reduce the opacity or you can just keep it and save as is.
That’s the first part of the challenge completed...how easy was that?
The second part of the challenge - which is the final presentation of your Lithograph image is the part I’m going to leave up to you...
Make it into a card, frame it, use it in a scrapbook page or whatever your imagination can conceive. Be creative.
Good luck everyone, have fun and I look forward to seeing your creations.

Thank you BillieJean for a fun challenge which is also educational for me. I had to research exactly what a lithograph is and how it is made. The process was invented in 1796 by German author and actor, Alois Senefelder, as a cheap method of publishing theatrical works (wikipedia). I wonder how he figured it out. i.ibb.co/Rzwx9Lg/Litho2.jpg

I also had to research what a lithograph is kdcintx so we both learned something...lol. Thanks for getting us started and with such a nice image and nicely presented too. pontiac1940...Nice one Clive. The effect really shows off the rain and lowering clouds in your image. fotofrank...A very poignant image Frank. Looks like goodbyes are being said. Works well with the lithograph effect.

Here's my original try at the lithograph.... Tried to take it one step further by adding it to this "letter".

- Applied the Lithograph effect at 75% Opacity. - Applied a Parchment texture (Multiply blending mode, 25% Opacity). - Created the border effect with ON1 Photo RAW (Sloppy Border).

Thanks Lillias - added a layer for the border. Frank, this looks so nostalgic (vintage?). Is that a sculpture? Great choice of image for this effect.

I gave this a try, added a couple of flying birds and some tape in the corner. A good one to learn some new skills that I will promptly forget i.ibb.co/2SY5tnW/DSC-9501.jpg

hmca... Beautiful Helen and love your idea of adding it to the letter. Works very well. Sepiana... This image lends itself well to this effect Sepiana. Great idea for the sloppy border as together with the dilapidated building it gives a vintage look to the piece as a whole. blackmutt...The birds are a nice addition Judy and I love that tape in the corner.

Here is my contribution - a log cabin on the Blue Ridge Parkway. While in "Quick", I used, in layer order, the litho effect and the sketch effect. Sketch layer to "Soft Light" to darken the lines. Merged the layer, duplicated it and moved it to the top. For Part 2 of the challenge, I pasted the wood plank background under the top with an opacity of 40%; added an edge texture (under the top) and changed blend mode to "Multiply" @100%. The last step was to take the upper most merged copy and group it with the edge texture. Maybe this will explain it... Now the picture...

Tourerjim, I like the way you added the hint of color. I tried that as well. After seeing yours, I realize I didn't bring back enough.
Lillias, a beautifully designed page. As well as the framed lithograph, I like the way you handled the flowers.
Jim0004.....well thought-out edit....I like it a lot.
