Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. - Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun. NOTE
I am assigning no theme this week. It is your turn! Pick a theme which appeals to you, grab your camera, and capture something which will be an interpretation of the theme you chose. Also, let us know what your theme is and how your photo relates to it. Have fun!

Open themes are always fun, Sepiana! Taking a quick look around the house this morning, I decided that my theme would be snowmen! Would love the opportunity to capture a real one but don't think that is in the books for this week. I will keep my eyes open for other opportunities though.

Thanks for the theme Sepiana! As we head into a new (hopefully improved) year I'm going to go with Beginnings for my theme. Here's this morning's beginning. Happy New Year everyone. Best wishes for a safe and peaceful 20201.

My theme for this photo is renewal. I always get a wee bit philosophical every new year, believing the new year is an opportunity for renewal. (Didn't work out so well in 2020, eh?) These are newly emerged amaryllis flower buds in our house. Renewal.

Not the greatest weeks weatherwise for lockdown photography so I'll go with "looking up" as the theme and shots of tree tops in winter taken from below. This was taken in colour but it was one of those grey days . I've resisted the temptation to replace the sky for the second week in a row (although PS does a rather good job on ones like this). Tony

My first Name Your Theme entry was "renewal" ... I think the New Year is a time for renewal. The theme of this second post is good light. This is a photo of what I think is good light...warm and contrasty late-day sunlight with a cooler background. I wish all of you great light when you take photos this year. Just a cone-laden spruce tree across the street bathed in warm light of a setting sun.

Frank, and so is your image. Great capture -- the flowing water contrasting with the solid (motionless) ice. Impressive details!

My theme is "Christmas lights in the neighborhood" kdcintyx, a festive and timely theme. Great composition -- the sidewalk leading lines drawing our eyes towards the Christmas lights.
