Just because you start with a template, doesn't mean you have to create a layout just like it. I turned this template on it's side because the photos were portrait shaped - and then I ran with it. After rotating, I used it pretty much as designed. I did use the doodads on the template - even though they are usually just a doodad placement idea - where you replace the item with one of your own. In this case, I wanted the colors, so I left them on the page - changing a few colors as I deemed necessary. These things are called embellishments, but I like to think of them as 'doodads'. Maybe she needs just a few decorating lessons...personal photos Font: Art Brewery Regular Template: khadfield

Fun page, Janice. I like the way you made it work for you. Looks like she really got into adding the sugar crystals! I see the date is 2020, have a feeling you may be creating some more pages of time spent with your granddaughter. Look forward to seeing them!

have a feeling you may be creating some more pages of time spent with your granddaughter. Unfortunately, I haven't seen her in a year - although we are getting out and about locally, plane trips are still off our list. However, I am truly thankful for texting and email - we are so fortunate we have other means of keeping in touch.

I'm glad to see someone else uses the word "doodads" besides me. It comes in handy to describe lots of things.

Such a fun page, a memory that in a few years time she'll look back on and see whether or not her decorating skills and methods have improved....
