I’m undecided about this one... It could come under R for Rose or T for Texture as I used an emboss/relief filter on both the roses and the backgound. The Rose is from Pixabay and the BG is by Erica Paree. Font: Autography Regular. Click to enlarge for a better view.

I think you picked the perfect background for this image, love how the roses seem to float above the page. I wish that I took more notice of the thorns when picking the roses, then perhaps I wouldn’t get caught up in them so often....basically trying to be an optimist with a hint of pessimism...

Emboss relief is one of those filters that I rarely use. I especially like the effect it has on the texture.....giving it the look for a fine watercolor paper. Look forward to trying it on some of my textures. Lovely image and a perfect quote.

Great presentation, Lillias. Nice work with the mask and I like the font used and the way you've colored it.

Another wonderful page Lillias, I am intrigued about how you find your images on Pixaby, do you go in with an idea or browse until you find something you can work with? Asking for a friend....

Thanks Jacki. Usually I look for a subject. Take this page for example, I searched for ‘old truck’. Then it’s a case of ploughing through the images till I find one or two that I think might work for the page I have in mind. I find the terminology used when doing a search can make quite a difference sometimes to the results of the search and it’s a case of trial and error as far as that’s concerned. To test this out try a search for ‘old truck’ then search for ‘rusty truck’ and you will see what I mean.
Also once you search for a subject if you look at the top of the Pixabay site you will see a selection of drop down choices you can make - under’ images’ for example you can choose photos, vector graphics, illustrations or videos. I hope this helps.
Looking at this particular page again I'm not happy with the integration of my old man sitting on the front of the truck. I think I could and should have done better with that composite...it's all a learning experience.

Thanks for those tips Lillias, I think I need to start looking further than my own images and Pixabay is looking like a good resource to explore.

Pixabay, Unsplash and Pexels are the three sites I use mostly Jacki.

Beautiful page Helen, I used to love reading Corduroy to the kids at storytime in the library, another lifetime ago.

I read it to the kids when I taught Nursery School, jackscrap. They always loved it.
