Annual ritual: the town installs a few thin-ice warning signs (to cover their collective butts), but as soon as the ice is good a few small skating surfaces appear. Was unseasonably cold in November and few people were skating. But a few weeks above normal put an end to that. And now it is cold again and new skating areas will appear soon and the ice is nice and smooth. Clive, you captured an interesting subject -- something "prohibited" that seems to be ignored. Due to Covid restrictions, golf is prohibited at the moment. Since this is one of the more exclusive Golf Clubs in this area, the Directors are making sure that it is also prohibited to walkers seeking a change of scenery. Thoroughly understandable: if you pay a goodly sum for the right to enjoy these beautiful surroundings, you wouldn't want them invaded by opportunistic ramblers, dogs, children. Entry therefore prohibited to all. Brenda Brenda, I really like how you got close to the fence/sign. It invites the viewer to sneak a peek at the "prohibited" on the other side. Very clever! |
