The Dennis "crew" has posted some great entries for this theme! " I had no idea that chimneys could be so intriguing!" Agree with you, Brenda. Here are a few taken from our shore town which was changed greatly since its " golden years". There are still a few homes left from earlier days but many have been torn down and replaced by new construction.

The chimneys at Darigold Dairy's Portland location this morning. Thanks for the theme Sepiana! Bill, great image -- beautiful tones, shades of gray, sharp details. Another job well done!

Tony, very nice composition with an odd number of chimneys (The Rule of Odds). Now I need to check out that movie.

One from the garden which must be all of twenty years old now and we often light it weekends and look out from warmth of the conservatory. Jim, thinking out of the box! Great job capturing the engraved details (designs) and rusty texture of this garden chimney.

These twin chimneys are survivors from the old Croydon Power Station, long since demolished. They are a prominent local landmark for the Ikea store which now fills the site. Dennis Dennis, nice to see these chimneys being repurposed. Great choice of orientation -- portrait. It follows the lines of these lean and tall chimneys.

Went to Sandy Hook today on a chimney hunt. Two more from yesterday..... Helen, and you found a treasure trove. Very nice job, capturing their architectural details.

Cottage in the Park has lots of chimneys which are a useful perch for birds. Matthew. Matthew, you have a knack for choosing the angle/perspective in your shots. You succeeded in capturing not only seven chimneys but also three birds.

A couple of unusual chimneys glimpsed during walks this week. I had no idea that chimneys could be so intriguing! Brenda Brenda, great job zooming in so that the viewers can see how intriguing they are. The one with the witch riding her broomstick takes the top honors. Very unusual!
