Thank you, Dan. I wasn't able to get the rich brown that you seem to achieve, but perhaps the texture and natural light in the starter image affects that.
The ironwork on the door above reminds me of the church door that I shot locally on page one of this challenge.....but yours is more ornate. Beautifully crafted.

Two from today taken at Sandy Hook..... Tried processing in On 1 for the first one.....
The first one has a lot of character, especially with the boarded up window.

First time I saw this challenge, I remembered a door from my town. Had to share for fun at least. I have done very little B&W, so this was a learning experience. Also, learning how to do things in PSE. So here goes

Glad to have you join this challenge, cjt . I am always up for a bit of fun.... You might want to take a look back at past black and white challenges for some inspiration on converting an image to B/W. Here are two links that you might find helpful for converting to B/W using PE. One from DPS and another from Essential Photoshop.
