This is an amazing use of pulled pixels - I'm enjoying seeing what you guys come up with. I probably won't do it - I hate selecting things to remove the background - it never seems to look as good as you all have done.

Thanks, Janice. Yes it is. I want to try it again on another image taken by a professional photographer. Looking at the examples Tom included, I especially like how the technique works with action shots. Yes, this technique works well with dynamic, action figures.

This could turn into a new hobby. I agree Did you watch the video Tom recommended? Awesome work and thought process.... " Here is a similar but more ambitious video from graphic artist Joe Cavazos that condenses 1.5 hours of design work into a 5.5 minute tutorial: S-Shape Pixel Stretch. Well worth the time to view it!"
I especially like the 3D look of the car. Your biker is a nice creative twist.....keep 'em coming.

Must admit that first video lost me rather quickly so I just made something up rather quickly. Made a pixel selection, pulled it, inverted it, did the polar coordinate thing and used it as a background to the selected lotus blossom. Without the inversion step the lotus blossom had got rather lost in the background. Tony

Bravo Lilias! Was Affinity Photo how you did the "twist" effect? That is very cool!

Bravo Lilias! Was Affinity Photo how you did the "twist" effect? That is very cool! Thanks Tom. Yes, Affinity Photo has a warp mesh tool which PSE doesn’t. I can’t say if it works ‘exactly’ the same as the warp mesh tool in the full PS as I have no experience with that to compare the two but in this case it did the job I wanted.
