Got a triple "S" this morning when we visited the newly opened extension of the Northern Line, which takes in two new stations, Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station. The latter boasts a new permanent artwork entitled "Sunset, Sunrise, Sunset" by Alexandre da Cunha. It is somewhat disconcerting at first sight, but the long frieze stretching the whole length of the ticket hall gradually but constantly changes colour along its length, representing in the different colours the daily flow from dawn to dusk. Really needs to be viewed leisurely over several minutes. Brenda Great finding -- a kinetic S artwork (by a Brazilian)! I really like how you took two shots, accentuating the flow of the colors.

My favourite Supermarket is Sain Sbury' S. This one is next to the new Nine Elms Underground Station, which we visited this morning. Matthew Matthew, great capture of S! Colorful and sharp image. The reflections are a bonus.

S is for Scooters. Several of them. Thanks for the theme Sepiana! Bill, I really like the angle you took this shot. The result is a very unique composition. Well done!

Looks like the "Scooter is "Supporting the bus "Shelter. Jim, yes, it does. Very clever use of perspective (angle?) in your shot.

My "S" is for Spider. Dennis Dennis, WOW! That’s quite a shot! Spot-on focus, use of negative space.

S is for Squirrels - currently up in an area of Ontario where red squirrels dominate while at home they are all black or gray and much bigger. Here's a red watching me: There are a few blacks here too - this one was making off at speed with a black walnut in its mouth. Surprisingly I've seen the reds carrying them too despite being smaller but they move so fast I've failed to get a picture. Tony, my favorite is the shot of the red squirrel. He is indeed watching you. The expression on his face is priceless.

This is the view from our summer place this evening. Sunset [light] on fall-colored trees and Chinook clouds over the Porcupine Hills. Clive, beautiful sunset. Very colorful. The sky seems to be on fire.

Pete, very nice! I like the portrait orientation of your shot, following the vertical lines of the saguaro.

S is for sloth (my spiritual animal) Jackie, hard to pick a favorite one. In the end, the sloth wins. How can one resist that face?

Tony, this S looks so peaceful! I really like how it is framed by the trees and bushes.
