Click on photo - then choose "load full resolution" - to get a better view of the details In this case, I had positioned the three photos and the word art I had created onto a blank canvas. Then I was stuck. My 'go to' when I'm stuck?? Yes, a template.I found a template I figured would coordinate and I dropped it behind all the elements I already had on my project. You can drop an entire template on an already started canvas. Make sure both layouts are showing on your workspace, then -go to the template, -highlight all the layers in the layers panel that you want to move to your project - hold down the shift key - and drag the layers from the layers panel to the other project. (You hold down the shift key while dragging so the items will land centered on your project) The layers will move as a whole - keeping their place on the design. On the original layout - before dragging from the template - make sure you are on the layer where you want the template layers to land. You want them to land as the back layers of the project. If they don't land in the right spot, the layers can be moved to the back of the project as a whole. After moving the template layers to my original project, it was time to move, resize, replace, and remove. Not sure about the stark whiteness of that middle section, but it does work to call attention to the word art. As you can tell, I'm not much into busy-ness. I start with a busy project and by the time I'm done, it's minimalist. And. as you can tell, I love templates by this designer Layout removed personal reasons

Thanks Jacki. I love encouraging others to get involved with scrapbooking. It has brought me such joy that I want others to feel that, too.

Thanks Lillias. Isn’t it always that way. A room full of toys - they choose the box

Ha ha, I can remember as a toddler being very happy playing with a bag of the old style wooden clothes pegs. No need for expensive toys.

I took some photos this week, thinking it was time I had another play at scrapbooking. I must admit that this is about my most favourite thing to do. Even though I am still a novice. (As I am with everything to do with PSE). I just don't get the practice.

Whippet - wish you joy in your creation process. The most important advice I can give -- don't be hard on yourself. You will have good days and bad - great outcomes and not so great. Do not try to live up to others expectations because, remember, anytime you make a project for someone, they will love it because of the effort you put into it and because you have taken a simple photo and made art with it.
Remember - journaling and dating. I thought I had this mastered, but when I look back on my work, I find so many layouts without date or occasion noted. Shame on me. I know better. LOL

Seeing your recent template examples I decided to give this a try again. My original thought was that I was going to "change it up" like you did with this one. However in the end I actually used it as it was created. When I try again I will see if I can come up with a different look. This is what the original template looked like.....I think it may have been a free download. Located information on the template....it was offered as a freebie from DCS.This is what I made today.... I remembered that I had added it to my gallery a few years ago.

Great use of the template. Perfect photo choices in each. Not every template needs to be changed up. Many, like this one, works real well just as designed.
I have grown fond of templates with masks. They add a special touch to any layout.
