The judge for this round usually posts on Monday. I'm sorry for the delay but the announcement will be made tomorrow. Great submissions this week everyone!

As Helen says, these are wonderful submissions this week; so many different techniques, approaches and styles being demonstrated. You never like to make the judges' lives easy! I could have selected several, but to my personal taste, particularly worthy of mention this week are: pontiac1940 and Backlighted Wild Clematis Seeds. The strands in the seed heads are pin sharp so they stand out beautifully against the back lighting, but for me what elevates this out of the ordinary is the gloriously luminescent leaf hanging top left which expands the image out. i.ibb.co/sFCfP8z/clematis-seeds-CC-PSEM-CAS09311.jpg dandc and Deer At Rest. This to me is all about the textures in the processing. Yes, the image is perfectly structured with the tree branches forming an internal frame, the line of dark clouds guiding you across the sky and the deer turning and looking bottom left providing a focal point in the corner, but I love the subtlety of the almost painted effect. lh3.googleusercontent.com/ZBktaJKWDlDwGx9AEWGpIPdBUgRqv9LEZQoVbw-0LJoh5_kZ-4ubGrBTa4FIbhMLPMuGXgx_8NMQoVwJtQ=w1024-no-tmp.jpg But this week the IOW prize goes to: caspa and Hmmm... That Looks Interesting. Thanks for sharing the two options. While I loved the more natural version, this one had an extra added dimension. What is great for me is the juxtaposition of the other-worldly colouring of the orchid and the beautifully crisp image of the bee in its natural state. The details are quite stunning, the shine on its body shows the curve of its shape, the collected nectar sac is obvious and every hair on its body is visible. The warmth of the background colour against the fluorescence of the flower is really nicely selected. Wonderful. i.ibb.co/GPHNvV1/bee-4.jpg Thank you again all for sharing your masterpieces.

Whew, Alex! You were definitely making me nervous on this one. I was afraid that I was going to have to end up judging on what I saw as an extremely difficult group to choose from. So thanks for coming through. As usual I enjoy reading your comments and seeing the images through your eye.
Congratulation to Clive and Dan and especially to Caspa......that little bee buzzed his way to the top!

Thank you to everyone for taking part this week and for your comments and a special thank you to alexr for taking the time to judge the images with constructive feedback.
I am glad you liked my bee image and I didn't envy at all your task of choosing your favourite.
They are all wonderful images in their own right.
Picking my favourite from the different genres in the images would have been extremely difficult because they would all look sensational hanging on a wall in an environment that suits their genre.

Thank you for judging Alex and for your in-depth and insightful reasons for your picks. I'm honored to have one of my photos among your selections and want to congratulate Clive and Caspa. I too was having a hard time picking a favorite between Caspa's two bee photos - it's amazing how color can draw the eye and totally change a perspective - well done!
