I've often shared photos of my Lake at sunset, well here's the way it looks during the day I tried to do a panorama, but the photos I took were at such angles, they didn't go together
The backkground striped look was done by using three layers of the same background paper with layer styles added --the two under layers were squeezed together You could also put your squeezed layers on top of each other

To do the background layer effect showcased above: - grab the move tool and push up on the bottom center arrow - the layer will compress You can also use the side arrow to compress vertically In this example 4 layers were used - one as background - three compressedLayer styles (bevel and shadow) added to each layer to delineate the layers -you could also use outline -you do not have to use layer styles if you want a more subtle effect

That is beautiful, Janice, so tranquil, and peaceful. I hope your cat isn't stalking that heron.

I like your sunset page above, Janice......and I appreciate the background techniques you shared above. I always find visual examples helpful.

Beautiful sunset page Janice. Very well constructed and love the background and the added embellishments.

Lake Arlington looks great in the daytime, thanks for sharing your techniques, so simple but very effective.

Sensational collage. You are very lucky to have such a "backyard" :-)
I am by no means an expert on this type of art but if you really can't make a panorama of the lake, then perhaps align horizontally the left and right side of the lake images.
The two sides of the lake being offset vertically is just a little distracting for me and tends to mess with my ageing eyes a bit.
Just my 2c :-)

caspa - thanks for the suggestions - I'm always open to suggestions and comments I did try combining the photos, but then the area where the water met the land was at a weird angle and that bothered me. I agree, I should've offset the two photos so they didn't look like they were mis-aligned. I worked on this layout until I just got tired of it and ended the endeavor. You can only imagine where I started - it looked nothing like this. LOL. Those photos changed sizes and placement and framing so often... see - the shoreline is straight - the pano doesn't have a straight shoreline
