I took a picture of the wrapped boat That looks exactly like the plastic that is used to wrap those long continuous tubes of rolled hay. Once the plastic is wrapped, it sort of fuses itself together to make a water-tight seal. This is all very interesting to me as nobody wraps boats around here. People make a fortune off of boat owners by renting them a stall in a "boat shed"; those places also have stalls for motor-homes and camper trailers. Around here, us locals sort of take acreage and space for granted; even the poorest of us have room for several cars on blocks; but, a lot of the boat and camper owners have no place to store anything like that so they rent space in a boat shed.

This is what Winter now means to me. The only time I miss snow is on Christmas Day - it does seem a little weird to see Christmas lights on the palm trees. After a 'cold spell' - when the high was in the 50's - it was in the 80's Christmas week I use the outdoor pool all winter - as long as it's above 60 and not windy. My photos of our community pool

Beautiful page, Janice! Again studying your layout...I like that you have used a variety of rectangles and the proportions and color combos work perfectly to my eye. Is the background a texture?

Thanks for the kind words. The background is probably from a scrapbook kit, but it’s old so I don’t know where I got it. I create my own backgrounds by blending papers using blend modes and then using hue adjustment to change the colors, so this may be one I made?? Backgrounds can be made by using brushes, too - another technique I often use I used a template, but like I so often do, I changed it so much you can’t even recognize the template. It was too fussy, so I eliminated a lot of items from the page Actually - it doesn't seen I changed it all that much

Nice Janice. I was going to request that the winter photos could not contain palm trees! Just kidding! Looks lovely!

People from 'up north' ask how I can stand the relentless heat and humidity - but I say "I don't have to shovel humidity" and "I don't slide off the road because of hot weather."
But to be honest, the heat/humidity is getting 'old' -- but when you think about it - you spend a lot of time in the house during the winter with your heat turned on - I spend a lot of time in the house during the summer with the a/c turned on.
And to be honest about that above page and temps - it's not usually this warm in December. Just nice knowing it can happen.

People from 'up north' ask how I can stand the relentless heat and humidity So far as heat and humidity are concerned, Kentucky is no better; the humidity is absolutely heinous; in Kentucky, you step out of the shower, clean and fresh as a daisy, step outside to get the mail, and your shirt is soaked through and your forehead is dripping. I used to haul Limousin cattle from the Dakotas and Canada to a ranch in Deland, Florida. I would open the trailer doors and kick those poor woolly cattle out in those humid tick-infested alligator swamps; if the humidity didn't get them, the alligators would. I have to add this: I almost never see a tire carcass on the roads up North; the farther South I get, the thicker the tire carcasses get, until they almost hide the blacktop in Florida.

Tires aren’t a problem - shopping carts are. This is the only town I’ve lived in where people leave shopping carts all over the parking lots - even if the place for returning the carts is right there. I’ve lived on both coasts and in between and I’ve never seen such laziness and thoughtlessness. Make sure not to park down hill, or a cart will roll into your car.
I can actually understand the tire issue, blowouts in this heat are common and — your battery doesn’t last either.

There must have been a bunch of Kentuckians migrated to Florida. Like you said, they can be within inches of the corral that contains them and will shove them in the other direction instead. On a windy day, they are like bumper cars.

Definitely not Florida and no palm trees - this corner of Ontario looked rather wintery this morning although it had all melted by lunchtime. Tony

the bird bath is closed until further notice. HA! BTW, we use a heated dog dish to water birds in winter. They love it. Love the near-monochrome hues in this photo. Pleasing composition too.

Thank you for your comments. I took that shot last winter. This year the bird bath is completely under a snow drift! I hope the snowfall is not as bad in your area of Alberta.
