I think you are off to a good start, Lillias. I am wondering if the framed mat was included in the pack or you created it from a paper? I like the way it looks with the vine threading through it.

I created it Helen. I used two background papers. Placed one on top of the other. I chose the rounded rectangle shape tool and dragged it out over the top paper to the size I wanted. I duplicated the shape 3 times and placed them as shown making sure they were equally placed on the page. I right clicked on each to simplify the shapes and then selecting them all I merged them into one layer. Using the magic wand tool I clicked on the space surrounding the shapes and that selects the transparent area around the shape. Select the move tool and click on the layer below the shapes layer to select it and click on Add Layer Mask icon to add a layer mask. To reveal the holes turn the shapes layer off by clicking on the eyeball at the side of the thumbnail. Apply drop shadows, bevels etc; I first saw this method on a How To Guru tutorial by George Peirson so I don't claim it as my own. Then I added all the rest of the bits and pieces.  |
