I have been considering leaving this Forum because my skills in many things are lacking. My photography skills as shown in my recent images has deteriorated noticeably, I plan on correcting that. I have forgotten many of the things I have learned in Lightroom & Elements because of time away for many reasons, I also plan on correcting that. This Forum is to far advanced in member technology and skills to aide in my recovery efforts along those lines. When viewing topics being discussed I quickly become lost with the relevant knowledge level being tossed back and forth in conversation. I will be returning to the online "Learning Programs" for regaining my once learned abilities, limited as they were.
I wish each and everyone of you success and happiness in your quests in life and success of course within this forum.
I just don't feel a conmfortable, good fit here so I'll be on my way.
When I hit the Create Thread button, I will also delete PSE&M from my Bookmarks Bar.
Thanks to all
dick

Don't go - your pictures are better than mine and I'm staying!

Dick - when a subject being discussed is above my knowledge level, I just skip it. Do that and it may cut some of your frustration.
Plus, I suggest you stick with only one software - either Lightroom or PSE - not both.
There is no reason to go "either or" when it comes to forums. Why not participate in both.

Dick, please stay!
We are building the forum, and every topic and question debated are valuable and will generate new readers and members. I'm not a very skilled user.. I have a lot to learn. If everyone here knows everything it wouldn't be any forum -or at least a very boring forum..

Dick,
I am very much like you. The photographs I take, most of them are far from what I wish they were. Yes I can get fairly decent moon shots sometimes, but not always, but that is about all I ever do any more. I wish I had the talent to take some bird pictures, but where I live I don't see that many birds, and when I do see them, I don't have my camera or they are facing the wrong direction.
As for Elements or Lightroom, I honestly seldom use either. I do use Elements much more than Lightroom, but only to resize or crop a picture. Seldom do I do anything more difficult. If I do need help with that that is when I come here asking for help, and I do get it here!
Please Dick return to Photoshop Elements & More.

I would miss seeing your name in here since we cannot have the village anymore!!! I hope the others convince you to stay and get used to the new forum. At first I did not like it at all, but with a little time I am getting used to it. I am not very technical when it comes to all the software and programs, so I just take what I can use and understand and skip the rest.

Hi Dick - I too forgot an awful lot with elements from being away from EV for quite some time and playing with photos in so long. I'm back to start over learning all the new stuff in the new Elements 13 and Perfect Photo. I don't use my programs daily but like to play around when I have some free time. The weekly challenge is a good way to refresh my mind. I started out on EV a long, long time ago when I didn't have a clue and learned a lot but forgot a ton from being away. This is the whole reason these forums exists, they help and teach and no question is to small or stupid. Lots of us are in the same boat and it really helps to be in a familiar place with familiar people to help like here. Stick around Dick - it's not a job, it's meant to be fun and to learn new things. You can still learn other places but why delete from your bookmark? You'll at least have a familiar place to pop in and ask a question. Just a thought - Maybe we could have a specific thread dedicated to brand new users "New Elements User" - "New to Elements" maybe a category like this would not be so intimidating for new users.

Or to users like you and me that used to know how to use Elements but have not used it in a long while and need to re-learn

So, have we all convinced you to stay yet? ?? Unfortunately it doesn't look like it. I think Dick made good his promise to delete PSE&M from his bookmarks as his profile indicates that he hasn't been back here since he created this thread. A shame. Bayla

So, have we all convinced you to stay yet? ?? From what Dick said in his initial post I don't think he is planning on coming back at all sad to say since his intentions were to delete PSE&M from his bookmarks right after clicking on create post.... It is doubtful he has read any of our posts.

I am so very sad and hope that at some point Dick will come back and share some of his fascinating photos and i so enjoyed the knowledge on birds that i have learned from him. Dick if you do this this at some time at least stop by to share your awesome photos. I truly enjoyed each and every one of them. I have major issues going on right now so i have little time to be on the forum but seeing your photos has always been a highlight for me.
