She certainly loved her subjects and painted them superbly.

Ill-looking Old Tom Cat Ever since the old cat lady came and went, there has been no shortage of vagabond cats prowling around here. I don't think I have seen this one before. Friday_28-January-2022

The Wild CatThis old cat is as wild as any Bobcat and sort of looks like a Bobcat.

I love this photo - seems to be taunting you - "I see you, but you can't see me..."
little does he know

Scroungy-lookin' Ol' Cat
From the looks of things, this old cat would have been better off to have stayed at the party and danced all night.

Saturday_29-October-2022 Old White Cat
Another old vagrant cat; it seems I see a different one every time I go outside.
Ever since the old cat lady went on to that great cathouse in the sky, her descendants and heirs have exponentially multiplied.
Vehicle, house, or barn, I am very careful not to leave an unguarded door open; I had sooner have a rat in the house as a cat; plus, some of these buildings, I may only be in them once in several years --- an old cat would get mighty hungry and thirsty before I had reason to be in there again.
As for the photos, it was officially too dark to be taking pictures; but, here they are, noise and all, as evidence that that particular cat was in that particular place at that date and time; who knows, it may alibi him/her in a capitol murder case.
As for that first shot, like most camera shy people around here, they expect a bullet between the eyes when the shutter clicks; so, like pulling the covers over your head when you hear a noise downstairs, they clinch their eyes tight hoping that, if they can't see it, then it ain't happening.

What happened ? Did the neighbor kid get a .22 rifle ? Did somebody in the neighborhood get a Blue Heeler ? a Border Collie ?
You are more than welcome to come to Kentucky and replenish your supply; I'll even supply the sacks.

No longer wanted responsibility - wanted to be free
That was my mother's excuse when she left me in a basket in front of the fire department.
Reminds me of what a good friend said to me many years ago.
We were sitting in the local eatery on the first of the month --- payday for poverty-stricken Kentuckians --- the place was packed.
They had scooted three tables together for this one big family of government dependents while outside, this little frail old woman was carrying a nasty little lap dog in her arms, pacing back and forth on the sidewalk in front of the big windows.
I had seen this little old lady many times before.
Every few minutes, she would rap her big fake ring on the glass, to get the attention of her group; and, when they would all look, she would take the dog's paw and wave it at them and they would all wave back.
My friend said "there are all sorts of people who will get their kids through school and married off and maybe even be able to finally enjoy life and the first thing they do is make themselves a slave to some little old lap dog and can't ever go nowhere nor do anything for such as you see out the window. That old woman is out there in the cold, going hungry, when she could be in here, feet stuck under that table, and enjoying herself."
I have thought of that many times.

Ol' Bobtail
He is ashamed about his missing tail and keeps it out of sight.
He came in late one night, drunk, after being out all night Tom-cattin' around; and, his wife, Lorena, cut off his tail.
