I really like this one; I wonder if it is three generations. I like the way they are spaced out instead of crowding against one another. I bet even fresh from being developed it would be hard to tell who the people were unless you already knew who they were; they didn't have zoom-in ability back in those days, only a magnifying glass. Also, and I have to wonder if it was intentional or just the way it worked out, whatever, it is very distracting once it is seen; there is what looks like a cut off tree in the yard and he has lined it up perfectly with one of the porch posts; the tree exactly matches the width of the post and makes it appear that the porch post is set in the yard instead of on the porch ---

Great photos. A bit strange seeing no vehicles in these. BTW, when we moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1955 (from the UK) my parents bought a house on the south side. The sidewalks were wooden and replaced with concrete in about 1957 or so. Our house was "modern" and built in ca 1950. Two houses down was an old (1930s?) shiplap, two-story house that had an ice box vs electric refrigerator as I recall the ice man delivering blocks of ice. Edmonton population was 225,00 in 1955 and is 1.5 million today. Thank you Pontiac! There are 2 or maybe 3 photos of cars in this collection. No more than that. Nice to know your folks could afford a "modern" house back then!

A street event near the courthouse yet again Most likely a hanging; you can see what looks like a corner of the scaffold at lower-left. You said lower-left... nearest all the buggies. Did you mean lower-right where I selected? You still think that BuckSkin? Did I select the correct portion of the picture?? Albion 19-Crop by inspeqtor, on Flickr

Interesting work being done in the next two pictures! In the first of these two, the tall apparatus is a well rig driven by a steam engine. You could hear those rigs for miles and anyone who had ever heard one once would recognize it again thirty years later, especially if they are driving through limestone. They don't so much drill the well; rather, it is driven, one clanging wham at a time.
