Thanks all for the varied selection. There are lovely things that I could say about every single one of them, but I have been ruthless and just selected the following for honourable mentions this time: deany Evening Light. Three lovely submissions, all of which I love so it is fascinating to get the chance to compare and contrast as this helps me understand what it is I actually like, and thus helps me improve my own images. For me, the warmth of the lighting and the simplicity of having a single (but beautiful) subject just edge this one over the others. The ring of stamens provide a lovely point of interest; the ‘wonkiness’ of the one on the left is a great quirk. srmoment Francoise Lake. As well as being a lovely image, this could appear in a text book as an example of great image construction. Simplicity is key when the view is so stunning. The shoreline and snow line leads the eye out then back in to the main focus of the cluster of buildings and trees, and the mountains and clouds appear in perfect reflection. Smashing. My IOW is: kathylee The Color Show. Sumptuous graduation of colours down through the sky, which runs seamlessly into the sunlit peaks and then the darker foreground. The darker top and bottom provide a superb framing to the image. And then, just as you’ve finished admiring the overall colour, you notice the cactus; you look in more detail and there are two people there. I love images that throw up such surprises.

Thanks for your comments Alex on my photo as I am always so nervous around composition! Congrats to Dean for another lovely still life and to Kathy for her IOW - your photographic eye is marvelous!
