I continue to struggle with editing fog pictures. Our weather continues to give me opportunity for practice. Here are my two attempts from today. This thread is open to anyone who would like to share their fog pictures or offer suggestions.

On these captures instead of removing the fog I accentuated it ...

I think your photos look great. I believe it is all in the angle of view. The photos you take from way up are going to have a different look than those taken from ground level. Whatever you have done to them, if anything at all, just keep doing it.

I have nothing to suggest in the way of editing, I like the fogginess as it is, what were you hoping to achieve with these photos? The mysteriousness? of the fog is how it blocks the views of what we get a tantalising glimpse of, I wouldn't want to see anything be made clearer.

Just as Jacki said, what are you asking for here? Since you didn't post these in the Member-to-Member Photo Advice board I am unable to offer my manipulations. Not that you are asking for them, but could serve as a point of clarification.

what were you hoping to achieve with these photos? That's just it....I am trying to figure out just why I find some fog pictures so appealing. My thought was that if there were a number of foggy pictures added to this thread it would help me pinpoint what that was. I really like Pete's trees. I have a FB friend whose foggy pictures always seem to capture my attention. So is it subject matter, angle of view as Buckskin pointed out, composition? This thread that I posted in the Member-to-Member Photo Advice board seemed to have that potential. I didn't view these as that worthy.

They look good to me Helen, and as others have said, the ambiguity of the fog is the draw. Keep shooting (and posting!) them.

Both of your fog images look good to me. Fog images can be difficult and I am not sure why. For me, it seems my fog photos are not as good as the actual scene. Someone said "mysterious" ... perhaps a fog photo should have some element of mystery. Or maybe some just work and some don't.

Thanks, Bill. Will do.
Yep, that's the kind of image I'm talking about, Clive!
