photo: cats4jan - taken from the cruise ship as we were sailing away from port taken with my little P&S - I love how this photo turned out with the starburst effect shooting out from sun graphics: Robyn at Just Art photo template: cats4jan background: three papers combined title font: American Typewriter Condensed For the title, I used two layers - one brown, one black and offset the layers so the black would show through - offsetting is more effective than shadowing
When I grouped/clipped my photo with the template, I decided it was boring, plus the sun was divided between two panels, so I offset the photo and recolored the template to go with the photo Then I didn't like the fact that the background was showing through the spaces between the panels, so I duplicated my photo to 'fill in the blanks' Added layer style - bevel The original template had a outline frame around each rectangle, but I decided to delete that layer

I always like it when you deconstruct a page, Janice. Offsetting the photo with the template was a very creative approach....to me anyway as I never would have thought to do that.

Offsetting the photo with the template was a very creative approach necessity is the mother of invention
I can always do the basics when creating a layout, but unless there is something special about it, I feel it's unfinished. Originally, this was 'unfinished' - it was a work in progress for a couple of days. I do like to post my thought processes so people can try something they may not have thought of themselves.

What a beautiful sunset and what a lovely way to showcase it.
