A color pencil sketch effect based on challenge #81. I started with the "classic" sketch effect and also did some d&b plus smudging. When bringing back the color, I used the technique found in Challenge #81.  |

I have been lost down the rabbit hole that is the Creative Effects Index...for a couple of days now. I decided to start with something simple for my first Creative Effects Challenge, so I went with Challenge No. 46 - Coloring Pages. It is a bit different in Photoshop, but the Elements tutorials still work for me. I have tried this before, with unshareable results, so be kind...it's my first time sharing one of these.   I’d say you are very courageous trying this out while you are still getting acquainted with our forum VickiD ! I hope you are finding stimulating and inspiring ideas in the CEC index. It can be helpful to visit the associated thread to see what others came up with to see what the tutorial has to offer before trying it yourself. |

So glad to see you join this challenge, Vicki. Your barn was a great choice and it would make a perfect coloring book page. In fact, it made me think of this thread by BuckSkin . I think he could create a whole coloring book of barns. You will find that many of the tuts shared in the CE Challenge were actually adapted from work that was presented for PS. |

Thanks Helen & Tom for the nice comments. The sketch effect has always been a favorite of mine. Whenever I find a tutorial on a sketch effect, I check it for new/different steps. Challenge #81 included the blend mode Pin Light when bringing back the color and that for me was different. In fact, I don’t remember ever using the blend mode Pin Light, so I had to give it a try.
