For those who don't know the term "scraplift"- its when you see a layout and try to duplicate it. This was an easy scraplift - it was a simple design and I had a good mask for the main photo Photos: cats4jan
Fonts: Euphoria Script Regular & Didot Italic Title is two layers - one offset to make the text fatter - If you offset enough (use the move tool and the arrow keys), you get an extra bonus look of the space between the two layers giving a lacy effect
Mask used and Texturizer applied to main photo

Thanks for this Janice! I am always drawn to simplistically designed pages. Love the way you overlapped the three rectangular images on the left. Did you create the little pushpin? That spot of color just works!

I had never heard of 'scraplift'. That is lovely, Janice. Like Helen, I too think the 'cards' are very effective.

That circle was a button created by someone else. It’s most likely created using layer styles on a circle - bevel and shadow??

That is the view from my back door. As I’ve mentioned before, I live on a man-made “lake” - actually, it’s a rain water retention pond. After they build the subdivision, they need to direct water away from the streets. The sewers in the streets drain into “lakes” which are made by lining a pit with rubber so the water stays put and becomes a lake
This technique is used so that people can have a home on a “lake”
There are other drainage systems where the water drains into fields and is allowed to seep into the earth.
As you have all seen before, I have a never ending supply of sunsets in every color you can imagine. I was disappointed when the houses were built across the lake, but actually, those houses provide shadows and interest to my sunset photos so now I look at them as assets.

Great page, Janice. Love seeing one large image taking up the whole background and then complemented with smaller snapshots. I may even scraplift this idea as I like it so much!

You can also use a photo as the complete background to your layout - no mask needed Water photos work so well as backgrounds. Seems I used this photo on two layouts. In the bottom layout, you can tell I had to use a second copy of the photo for the bottom of the page so I could completely fill in the background of the layout. Yes, we were on that plane - took it to a lodge for a salmon dinner. The bear helped himself to the leftovers on the grill. I have to say, that was one of my favorite tours, ever. Alaska is amazing.

I really like this technique. Here's one more... Looking forward to seeing your layouts
