Sorry to hear about that tourejim, On a Mac that is controlled by the computer and I believe it is the same on Windows. You just adjust the size of your pointer/cursor.

Changing that setting on a Mac changes the cursor/tool size in all programs. I did test it in Elements on my Mac.

I enlarged the mouse pointer and the change is reflected in Elements (as well as in other programs). Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse > Adjust mouse & cursor size > Mouse pointer

Hi Sepiana, no issue with mouse pointer as shown to the left of 1st image but second image it's almost invisible, as I draw it across the image it flickers like on n off so if im working on small area it often disappears, 2nd image middle of the book half way up if you can see it, I've done usual resets but no luck.

I have a couple of questions -
What size is the image and what brush, brush size and opacity?
Is the Caps lock key active?

Ok next questions, you are using the brush on the top layer and not somewhere in the layer stack - correct.
Have you tried this just creating a new image and using the brush tool?
Have tried to reset Elements?

TourerJim, I did a test on my PSE. Changing the cursor size in Windows will make it appear larger while hovering over the tools, but it will become small again when hovering over the Image window. I wonder if your friend changed the screen display resolution. Using a lower screen resolution might make the cursor appear larger. If possible, please ask him to describe the solution. It might be helpful to others who face the same problem.
Kind regards Chris

The new size is also displayed when I hover the cursor over the Elements working space. My 4K monitor has a 3840 x 2160 resolution (recommended). The Scale and Layout is set to 200%. The UI Scale Factor is set to Automatic in Elements (Edit > Preferences > Display & Cursors > . . .)

He see it better than I could what was happening when he hovered the tool over the image it would kinda flicker like mouse pointer does but in this case it flickered to a transparency.
Sepiana that could be what he mentioned (The UI Scale Factor is set to "Automatic".) when I see him next I'll find out bit more, I have limit hearing so was difficult to lip read some of this tech stuff.

All I done was looked in the Photoshop Elements, Edit Tab, Preferences, changed the paint curser to full size brush tip, my advise when your working refined areas change the paint curser to Standard, try this and let me know please.
