Sunday_19-June-2022Brown Thrasher
This Brown Thrasher has a nest in the big clump of Honeysuckle and Multifleur Rose bushes around the gatepost where I open and close the gate at least twice every day, letting Henry back and forth from the field to the barn lot.
I would love to get a photo of her nest, but it is so thick in there as to be impossible to see and the rose briars will eat you alive.
Here is what Kidadl. National Geographic for Kids, All About Birds, Audubon, and Wikipedia have to say about them.
FREE Coloring PageSince this writing, I believe the birds have hatched and flown the coop; as, I have been seeing a herd of scroungy-looking little birds hanging around close and they sure stick together.

Neat bird and good captures. They live here in summer, but I have not seen one for decades partly because I live outside the breeding range. However, I recall walking with a rancher WAY back in ca 1970 and seeing one in brush along a stream. This was about 2 hours east of where I live.
These photos seem to have a distinct purple/magenta color cast. Not so much the background but the post and bird.

These photos seem to have a distinct purple/magenta color cast. I think I helped the situation and have replaced the images in the initial post.
Thanks for seeing it and pointing it out.
