Our forum is such an invaluable resource! It is impossible to overstate the value of being able to get timely and expert answers to questions about Photoshop Elements. For extending my skills though, the tutorials offered in the Creative Effects Challenges have taught me more about using Photoshop Elements than any other resource.
All of our challenges and contests are hosted by one or more generous members. Recently one of the Creative Effects Challenge hosts needed to step away, leaving us with just 4, so I am really hoping you will step forward and become a Creative Effects Challenge host. Because it is offered once every two weeks, your turn would come around just once every 10 weeks.
You are not expected to create a new tutorial (but are welcome to if you wish). Rather, your role as a host is to present a technique and field questions that might arise. We have a special board, visible only to CEC hosts, which contains a large number of tutorials that you can use as the basis for your Creative Effects Challenge.
If you value the Creative Effects Challenge please think about joining the CEC team and keep it going. If you would like to give it a try, or have any questions before you decide, please send a Personal Message to Tpgettys . Thank you for considering this request.
In the meantime, the challenge this time is to pick one (or more!) of the past Creative Effects Challenges and give it another try, or find a past challenge that you didn't get to the first time around, and post your results in this thread. Here is the complete list of the Creative Effects Challenges for you to choose from. You *will* be amazed by the many wonderful tutorials in our collection! I look forward to seeing your creations!

Tpgettys...this is a double challenge, since we have to make our own decisions about what effects to create! So many styles, so little time! Haha...Thanks for this and the homework.

I missed #149 RAW Misty House >>> processed using On1 completely
Adjusted tone, transform to straighten, dynamic contrast on house, added moody sky, used B&W filter

My goal is to use a tut introduced by each one of our long-time CE hosts. As soon as I saw Frank's post above I knew that I wanted to try this technique. Looking back at that thread I especially liked the results he showed in this post. Then I got this crazy idea about trying to give this corridor a psychedelic look and went off on a tangent. I will try another one before this challenge ends and follow the tut more closely. This is what I came up with for this time.

So I'm back....I didn't want to leave a poor example for what I think is a really fun tut. Did another quick one.

I've been challenged when trying this effect from other tutorials, but this one (CE No.14-Painterly Sketch Effect) used totally different steps and I like my results! Then I wanted to try it on a totally different type of photo...so here's my second result.
