I wonder if there are any "blue" people left? Berie As per Berengaria's question HERE, I have learned something I thought the rest of you would be interested in The BLUE Fugates of Kentucky
My wife had just recently finished the book, so I asked her what on earth Berengaria was inquiring about....Blue People.
She knew exactly what was meant and assured me that plenty of them are still alive and kicking.
In fact, our dear friend who is head nurse at the hospital a few counties away, was shocked beyond belief a few nights ago when one of them showed up in the emergency room; like me, she never before knew such existed.
I found THIS, THIS; and, VIDEO1, VIDEO2, and VIDEO3.
Many thanks to Berengaria for making me aware of this interesting bit about Kentuckians.

Well that was very interesting and now I have to source that book from somewhere. Thankyou BuckSkin for doing the research, and Mrs BuckSkin for not thinking you'd lost the cheese off your cracker.

Thank Mrs BuckSkin for not thinking you'd lost the cheese off your cracker.
She had already decided that years ago.

BuckSkin Thanks for this. I had no idea whatsoever. Thanks Clive All the credit goes to Berengaria for asking and thus making me aware that The Blue People even existed.
I see plenty of little old blue-haired ladies; maybe they carry a diluted version of the gene.
I can just imagine my wife's dear cougar friend, the nurse, when she had her experience/introduction with that one in the emergency room.

BuckSkin, many thanks for your great research. It is very interesting. I can easily imagine you heading up into the Kentuck mountains this Fall and trying to find some of those old mountain houses around Troublesome Creek to photograph, if they haven't all washed away.
Of course full credit has to go to Kim Richardson and her great book, "The Book Women of Troublesome Creek". She did a fabulous job.
(Funny but I always like books about libraries, library people, even library cats. Never go wrong with a library theme. That's how I picked this out. }

Hope you enjoy it. I have a terrible time finding a good book that I like. I’ve read all the ones I like at least 3 times. So much trash out there. Thank heaven for free libraries!

Have just downloaded the audiobook of the sequel, can't wait to go for a long walk so I can listen without distractions.

What an incredibly interesting story. Too bad it was before color photography -
There is an Oprah show about a guy who was blue - but he turned blue because of a chemical he was using to treat a skin condition - he was not a descendent of that family
