BillieJean, great combo of textures and blending modes. Which technique(s) did you use to do the moving and the adding? The resulting effect looks very natural (as if the starter image was like that). Thank you Sepiana. Firstly regarding adding to the scene- Using the crop tool I resized/added to the right side of the canvas. Then I made a rectangle selection of the right side of the original image and stretched it out over the canvas. I think the addition of the two textures with their blending modes helped to camouflage any possible resulting imperfections. Regarding moving the little girl. I selected her duplicated and put her on a layer of her own and then back on the original image I selected her again and used the content aware tool to make her disappear from her original position. That worked quite well but I did have to use the clone tool to tidy up a little bit. Then I just moved the duplicate girl to her new position on the page. BillieJean, thanks for answering my question! It seems like a lot of work but it paid off in the end.

Thanks for this Sepiana, Used my stacking action and created a double exposure. Frank, this is awesome! Image-stacking taken to another level. How did you create the double exposure?

tonyw, great idea and perfect execution. You definitely mastered the Puppet Warp tool. Not an easy task (at least for me).

Sharpen with cross processing filter Pete, great job! I really like the results -- amazing details and vivid colors. Quite a step up for the starter image!

New background image and white dove by pixabay. Separated children and the dove out using polygonal lasso and refine edge tools, then copied and pasted them back into background image; moved, adjusted sizes, etc. Jim, this is an impressive composite work! You nailed it -- idea and execution.

Thought I'd use try tonyw Fresco. Jim, this is an interesting effect -- it looks like a cartoon with a touch of posterization. Very creative!

Again...it took me a while, but I finally finished my entry for this challenge. Thanks Sepiana for the adorable starter photo! For this image, I used a levels adjustment layer to increase the contrast of the background image, then copied the layer. I used Find Edges on the new layer and duplicated that one, too.(and then turned it off) I added a layer mask to the first duplicate and painted with black using a grunge brush set to disolve to bring back some of the color from the background layer. Then turned the second find edges layer back on and changed the blend mode to Soft Light. Next I created a stamped layer from all the underlying layers and added a texture layer at the top (2LO Farmhouse Shabby 3-8). I used 2LO Brayer Photo Masks 10 to add a layer mask.

Vicki, this is a very creative use of the Find Edges filter. Now the starter image has a distinctive illustration look. Great job!

I have the Nik collection but I don't remember having tried this double-exposure effect. I'm going to check it out.
