John Deere "B" Power Unit
The "B" Power Unit was never available commercially; this unit is a converted farm tractor.
Notice how the orientation of the belt pulley on this unit differs from that of the International Harvester U2 Power Unit in the previous posting.
This unit is powering a huge vertical shingle mill.
The old bicycle tire that is visible in some of the photos is repurposed as a blade protector for the big circular blade on the shingle mill, not so much as to protect people from the blade, but to protect the blade from anything that might dull it or knock out the set of the teeth.
Notice the 55-gallon drum full of concrete that anchors the unit from moving forward and slackening tension on the belt.
