Glitch
This Creative Effects Challenge will show you how to create an old green computer screen Glitch Image using Layers in Photoshop Elements or the full version of Photoshop.

Please read thru the entire tutorial before you start.
Let’s get started:
1. Open an image that you want to use.
2. Set your foreground color to Black and your background color to White.
3. Duplicate the layer (Ctrl/CMD+j).
4. Desaturate the duplicated layer (Ctrl/CMD+shift+u).
5. Duplicate the desaturated layer (Ctrl/CMD+j).
6. Add a Layer Mask to this layer.
7. With the duplicated desaturated layer selected, go to Filter>Filter Gallery>Sketch>Halftone Pattern.
a. Settings:
i. Size – between 1 and 4
ii. Contrast - between 0 to 10
iii. Pattern Type - Line
iv. Adjust as needed
v. Click OK
8. With the same layer selected, go to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur
a. Settings:
i. Angle - Between 0 and 5
ii. Distance – between 200 to 500
iii. Click OK
9. Add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to add the green color.
a. Settings:
i. Hue – 120
ii. Saturation – 25
iii. Lightness - -30 (minus 30)
iv. Check Colorize
10. Add a Levels adjustment layer if needed to adjust the brightness of your image.
11. Paint with Black on the Layer Mask added in step 6, to allow some of the non-blurred image to show through. Set your Brush opacity to 15%.
But wait - you can just use the action that I have supplied. The Action contains two versions. If your software supports Layer Groups you can run Glitch 2.
