Just have to say that when you scroll through the entries they are all so different. This is proving to be a very unique challenge.

Here is my attempt. Opened in DxO DeepPrime and then into ACR. In ACR I adjusted to a cooler temperate and then proceeded to the sliders. In PSE, I cropped to a 3x2 aspect ratio and then used the golden section to place the horizon. I added Color Efex filters using a preset entitled Super Punch. I chose that one because it added detail to the hills in the background.

Edited in DXO photo lab 6 and then NIK Silver Effect to convert to a B&W. Cropped to a 16x9. Next into photoshop to colorize the image and add an Iris Blur.

I was especially interested to see your crop, PeteB . I like the depth you have created front to back with your editing choices. Same question as Tony, fotofrank .....also wondered why you made the decision to go that route?

Thanks for the comments.
Yes I did use the Colorize part of the Neural Filter. I use the output to a color layer and adjust from there.
I decided to edit and then convert the image to B&W with the intent to let photoshop recolor the image as I did not like flat colors of the image even after my edit. I did minor tweaking of the slides before I output the new color layer and then painted in anyplace I wanted to change the color.
This is process I have done in the past with some very good results.

Thanks for sharing, Frank. That is a very creative approach. I will have to give it a try.

Hi Helen When I first looked at the image, I noticed the horizon was at 50% and there was quite a bit of empty (negative) space at the top of the image. I decided to adjust the horizon (cropping out the negative space) so the water was more of the focus.

Thanks for explaining the reasoning behind your crop, PeteB.

Thought I'd just soften the view

One more - I had been wondering about the rocks at the bottom that I and several others had cropped out so thought I'd try leaving them as they do make an interesting feature at the bottom. I also tried the haze reduction feature in PSE 2022 (it's in Perfect Landscape guided edit) and it did seem to work quite well although I also did some basic and masking edits in Lightroom. This is a really interesting challenge as there are so many possible ways to crop and edit. Tony

I like your "softened" view, tourerjim . I think it probably comes close to what the person saw when taking the picture. This is a really interesting challenge as there are so many possible ways to crop and edit. I agree and am really pleased to see the different directions people are going with it. There is no limit on the number of edits that you can submit so keep them coming everyone!

Went for a landscape crop, added a painting effect using Topaz Impression and added Marcia's gallery frame action.
