Male downy woodpecker. Crazy low light...so dull.

Outside our local Post Office, where we stopped this morning to buy stamps for Christmas cards - the red postbox with its seasonal hat on. Dennis Dennis, perfect "Something Red"! Great idea getting close to your subject. You succeeded in capturing all the details and texture on this postbox.

A Christmas ornament...... Helen, great finding to fulfill this theme. This ornament is 100% Something Red. And it's beautiful!

Luckily the birds hadn't yet got round to eating the berries on this holly bush - they tend to wait until later in winter but most will be gone by spring. Tony, the birds were on your side. I like the fill-the-frame approach; the green leaves are a nice contrast to the red berries.

Graffiti is "red." Thanks Sepiana! Bill, WOW! Thinking out of the red, I mean, out of the box. This is the kind of image that draws the viewers' attention. Well done!

It's Uncola SeasonTook a shot today of a Santa w/7-up Christmas poster that I nabbed at an antique - collectible mall at least 20 yrs. ago and just added a Jodi frame style. We bring it out as a Christmas decoration every year. Jim, I like your entry with its vintage angle. It feels so nostalgic! Great job capturing this Christmas poster.

Three different types of red vegetables on a shopfront display. Matthew Matthew, and three amazing images! Bold reds, vivid details, and fill-the-frame composition. They deserve a place on the wall!

These dry, Red weeds caught my eye as I was out with some new gear yesterday. Seem to fit the theme nicely. Rick, and they are bound to catch the viewers' eyes. What a RED show by Mother Nature! I like how you naturally framed your subject with those trees.

Some abandoned farm equipment: a tractor and a grain auger. The Cockshutt 1850 was built between 1964 and 1969. Clive, great finding! Despite the tear and wear, their red color is still there. Ready for this challenge!

My phone is caught RED-handed in this useful little RED gadget. It stops me losing track of it, as I am very forgetful. Brenda Brenda, I like your RED-handed angle! It made me smile. The portrait-oriented composition was the perfect choice; it follows along the vertical lines of your subject.

Snowed last night and that brought the cardinals to the bird feeder - and there's nothing redder than a male cardinal. This was taken through a window. Tony, I was hoping to see a male Cardinal and you delivered it. RED is the color of this bird. Great spot-on focus and DOF!
