Thanks for all the border hints. We all have different strengths.... and I will hopefully remember your tips Janice. What I had wanted to do would probably have been very simple for the three of you....and many other members for that matter, but I was at a loss. I wanted to create a border similar to the one Tom created on this design.

I wanted to create a border similar to the one Tom created on this design. It looks like the frame was created with the Custom Shape tool (Frames > Frame 27). Then, tutorial followed.

Thank you Sepiana. It is at times like this that I could use a copy of PE. I looked at the frames in PS and they aren't near as nice.....but I suppose I could create one by combining different shapes that are offered.

LOL! Thanks Sepiana; I looked to see how I did it but wasn't successful. Looking again I now see that the thumbnail is so small that I can't see the details in the corners. That may the problem you are having too, Helen. In the custom shapes, under Frames, see if #27 isn't the same one (you may need to actually use it to see the details).

Ok...I looked at my tree again and it looks really incomplete. I went back to my layered file and saw that I had forgotten to add the bevel & emboss effect! Sheesh, and it DOES make a difference. Here's what it should have looked like and I added a frame, so now it looks complete! I'm really thankful for the restraint everyone showed in not telling me it was a terrible job!!! LOL You are all so kind.

LOL! I looked at your previous one really hard and still couldn’t see the bevel, but just assumed the size was very small. I am so glad you went back to it and figured it out, as your image and confidence are well-repaired!

In the custom shapes, under Frames, see if #27 Here is a screenshot of the numbered frames I see in my version of PS. I don't view any of them as being particularly attractive. They create a path which I have never taken the time to explore using.

HiClipart has some beautiful frames Helen which I'm sure could be used here.

Those do not correspond to the custom shapes/frames in PSE, so my hope that they would be the same is gone. Sorry!

Hi Clip Art is amazing. The graphics are huge and the pngs are top quality. (sometimes when you get a png from other sources, it's a terribly selected item with ragged edges)
I'm pretty sure I've been there before, but I didn't have it bookmarked. Thanks so much for the reminder.

tend to forget about using pngs. When doing scrapbook pages, I'm disappointed if a graphic does not come as a png. Scrapbook pages are all about dropping one layer onto another and another and...
