Inspired by Howard .. on the night train to Inner Mongolia

Howard mentioned Daidō Moriyama in his Vanishing Point post. Howard's night photo and some of Moriyama's photos reminded me of a photo I took on a night train between Harbin in NE China to Inner Mongolia in April 2004. It took me a while to narrow down the photo's location on my many hard drives.
In April 2004, I was working in northern China and we needed to go to Inner Mongolia for a few days. We could not fly to Hulan Bier City (in Hailar District, Inner Mongolia) as it meant flying to Beijing and then back up to Hulan Bier. So train it was and I never regretted one moment of the ~12-hour trips. (We actually took the train two years in a row.) Good times for me. I made eleven trips to norther China between 1998 and 2006.
Anyway, herewith a station platform in the middle of the night of April 28, 2004 somewhere between Harbin and Inner Mongolia. This was taken with my first digital camera a Nikon Coolpix 995 and shot at 0.3 seconds at ISO 800.
