I have a question???? On step no 10, do I hit alt+shift+e if I have Windows??? I did this and no new layer came up. The picture just got darker, I just have the three layers with inverted layer at the top. So I can not name it. It must stay inverted as per next step I see in the next step I should have another layer above the inverted layer. Hope I made some sense here!!!! Kathy Lee
Rita, Thank you for the reply!! I could have left out the Ctrl, not sure, although I did write it down in here. I will try again, I hope that is the fix!! Kathy
I believe Rita hit the nail on the head. In Step 10, you are supposed to create a composite layer, a combination of all your visible layers. If you are on Windows, the shortcut to create such a layer is . . . Ctrl-Alt-Shift-E.
Leaving the Ctrl key out of the combo will generate a different shortcut, one to call up the Difference blending mode. I believe this explains why no layer was created at the top of the stack and "the picture just got darker".
