jackscrapWe just watched the final this afternoon. Willie PVRs everything and she rarely watches anything in real time. In any case, the time zones are wonky. I actually watched for 2 hours...which is about my weekly TV allotment. What an incredible comeback by Nadal. Rafa looks positively demented or in a trance when he is playing. (100% psyched into the game.) Then the game is over and he is a different man. Was pretty good.

What a marathon it was, and the night air was quite warm with very high humidity, not perfect conditions for how he likes to hit the ball. Commentators estimate that he lost between 4 and 5 kgs, was quite brutal at times but very entertaining. Medvedev did not have the support of the crowd, and had a few complaints to the umpire about the ball kids, not a very endearing player, but his time will come no doubt, he played very well.
