I'm looking for recommendations on photo printing. For regular 4x6 prints, I have used both Shutterfly or Snapfish and I was ok with them. However, since I've purchased my Canon PRO-100 printer, started using Red River Paper, and have a color-managed workflow, I guess my standards have been raised. I love the prints from my printer with the RR Ultra Satin paper. However, I have a batch of about 50 pictures I want to print and that gets a little cost prohibitive with the printer. Do other forum members use services for 4x6 prints and what do you recommend? Now don't start throwing rocks at me but I have found Costco does a good job for the price.

Hi Folks, I got started with Elements 4 when it came bundled with my Epson scanner. A couple years later I upgraded my scanner and got Elements 6 with it. Since then I've bought the even-numbered versions but I did buy version 13 to try out the 64 bit code (I use Windows 7 64 bit). I shoot film mainly with a bit of digital once in awhile. Allan Allan, good to have you.

Joe,
Pardon my ignorance! Has Adobe ever released security fixes for Elements? I didn't know that.
EDIT: I did some checking. It looks like the last time Adobe issued a Security Advisory for Elements (version 7 and 8) was back in 2009-2011. It doesn't look like security concerning Elements is a big issue.
Security Bulletins and Advisories
Just pointing out a potential issue. There are probably flaws in all their software (and every other software package ever written) that they and the hackers are unaware of. Hopefully the hackers will remain unaware of the flaws, if any.

I am new to Flickr and have created an account. When I upload from Flickr almost all the time, I get a screen saying they are having difficulties. I also have something that suggests I install a Flickr Updater for Windows and it has a tag that says BETA on it. Should I be downloading this updater? I'm a bit paranoid now after my webcam (which I didn't even know I had) was hacked and something was spying on me!!! Kinda late to post a reply but I would not worry about downloading the updater. It essentially searches your computer for all your pictures and uploads them for you. They are all marked private so you don't need to worry about them being seen. You can then go through and mark them for family, friends or leave them private. It is a good backup for your photo's. It is a beta version.

The only thing you are up against with older versions are possible security issues. After a new release Adobe will not issue security fixes for the older version.

We could use some summer! The temperature is about 15 degrees Celsius or 60 degrees Fahrenheit at the most. Brrrr... And summer came too early to Oregon. Normally it doesn't start until July 5th. This year it probably started June 5th. Been pretty hot the past week with little cooling in sight. You know it has been hot when you think mid 80's is cool.

The following article in the New York Times was published earlier in May this year, but I thought it might interest some of you. It reveals the story behind an iconic photo taken 50 years ago in the US of a school football game that goes on whilst a school building burns in the background. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for sharing. Don't remember ever seeing it before but then that was long before 24 news channels and I never (still don't) read the sports section.

I have been considering leaving this Forum because my skills in many things are lacking. My photography skills as shown in my recent images has deteriorated noticeably, I plan on correcting that. I have forgotten many of the things I have learned in Lightroom & Elements because of time away for many reasons, I also plan on correcting that. This Forum is to far advanced in member technology and skills to aide in my recovery efforts along those lines. When viewing topics being discussed I quickly become lost with the relevant knowledge level being tossed back and forth in conversation. I will be returning to the online "Learning Programs" for regaining my once learned abilities, limited as they were. I wish each and everyone of you success and happiness in your quests in life and success of course within this forum. I just don't feel a conmfortable, good fit here so I'll be on my way. When I hit the Create Thread button, I will also delete PSE&M from my Bookmarks Bar. Thanks to all dick I could echo Dick's sentiments as far as skills go but to quit would be crazy. Never know when you will pick up an interesting tidbit.

I've always been proud of my ability to spot nuances between colours and to 'carry' a colour & match it up when shopping even when I don't have an item with me. So I was interested to put it to the test: Test Your Color VisionBayla (Pleased to say I scored 29/30 - I have the eyes of a hawk!!) Hmm, I got 18 out of 19. Was there a timer that prevented me from getting any higher? Or does it cut you off at the first error?

No need to move files nor rename them. Lightroom will catalog the directories and pictures with no problem. The directory and file name are the unique identifiers. If you search within LR it will show all files with that name, not a big deal.
Don't try to put them all into one folder. Leave them where they're at. LR will keep track of where they're at.

If you do a reservation and bring it up later it will tell you what issues you may have if any. If there are major issues then you just cancel. My desktop came out clean. A laptop had some blue tooth issues but we don't use that anyway. Some apps would not work but they were related to Lenovo which really don't mean much. Right on Joe,thats exactly what happened above with the "AMD reference" , that being the older monitor in use. I told my wife she may need to upgrade her monitor, she frowned LOL. dick I checked the laptop today and today everything checks out okay now, blue tooth and apps. Lenovo did send out some updates.

Thanks Sepiana, I also decided it wasn't wise to do the reservation bit and followed the directions to cancel ,they were in error but I found the correct path and did so. While I was stumbling around I came across a blivet about how the Display software AMD Radeon 8400 was not fully compatible and may have problems with Win 10....Yep problems and errors already ,glad I backed out of it. dick If you do a reservation and bring it up later it will tell you what issues you may have if any. I'm glad people are viewing the forum with Tapatalk. I'm hoping that having a mobile-friendly forum will help attract and retain membership here. I was able to log into the forum when the testing was going on. Made it through the pains of the name change but I have not been able to login from TapaTalk. It wants me to sign in which is understandable. When I click on it I get the following: Sign up on pselementsandmore.proboards.com and retun to Tapatalk to Log In Why? I had no issue when it was under development. Do both profile names need to be the same?
