I am having problems viewing some of the images on this forum, both in posts and in the user galleries (including my own) I have a feeling it may only be images uploaded via cubeupload. Sometimes I see a tiny grey square which if I click on it will occasionally load an image at cubeupload but will invariably display either an error message or will just freeze and show nothing, but sometimes all I see is the title of a picture, the comments underneath but just a blank line above where the picture should be. Sometimes if I leave the page up for long enough (5 minutes or more!) then the pictures will eventually appear but I obviously don't have the time for that!
This has only recently started to happen. Can anyone explain it or make a suggestion for how I can see all the images again.

Well dd waited over three weeks with the message that Windows 10 is downloading (but when she clicked on the button to see where it was up to nothing happened!). In the meantime her laptop was running sooooo slow and not letting her access the internet so she cancelled the reservation. She feels she's stuck between a rock and a hard place - hates Windows 8 but doesn't seem to be able to move on to Windows 10! On the other hand youngest dd has gone from 8 to 10 on her laptop and is very happy with it.

Bruce,
I think that's the way I'm heading....but am doing some serious housekeeping before I start with LR so as to organise all the photos to the same place on my computer - at the moment they are a nightmare, all over the place! I have put off doing this before because of not wanting to move anything outside of the Organiser, but if that is out of the equation then there's really nothing to stop me.

After my recent back-up débacle (see I Thought I Had Backed Everything Up) I have ended up losing my Organiser catalog. Now I may still go down the avenue of paid data restoration which might (no guarantees) be able to get it back for me, but to be perfectly honest, having decided to install LR6 I'm wondering whether it might be best to cut my losses and just use LR for organising my photos, and forget about the Organiser. What would everyone advise? Bayla

Bruce,
Thanks. That was exactly what I was looking for. Not sure why I couldn't find that page. And it's only £59!

Sorry if this has been asked already but I've not been able to find an answer.
A few months ago i thought I would upgrade to LR6 and there was an upgrade version available at Adobe for about £75. Now I can't find it - it seems there's only an option to purchase a CC version which I don't want.
Am I correct?

Hummie,
Glad to see another old face has found us! One of the things I did before EV closed was save as much as possible to OneNote - your website was one of the resources I saved.

Bayla, has yours arrived today? I hope your installation is easier and less of a palaver than this? Julie Yes, it arrived yesterday, but as dh & I are away until the weekend I won't get a chance to put it on my pc until Sunday. Hopefully the installation will be plain sailing. Hope the leap from 9 to 13 doesn't tax the old brain too much! Bayla

Well I 'went for it'! At that price it was silly not to! As it happens I've never bought an upgrade yet cos I've always purchased a) in the USA where it's worked out cheaper, and b) bought it just prior to a new version coming out. I've never felt the need to continually upgrade to the latest version!

So the 'Full' & 'Upgrade' versions are the same, but you can only get the 'Upgrade' if you already own a previous version. But if the 'Full'' version is half the price of the 'Upgrade' then it makes no sense to purchase the 'Upgrade'!

Sepiana,
So why is the 'Upgrade' nearly double the price? That's not rewarding!

Well I thought I'd give everyone an update - I went with the SSD + 1TB HD combination & so far so good. The difference in the speed the pc boots up is phenomenal. Also I have put PSE on the SSD and that boots up in a few seconds. I also noticed when I added some actions & deleted the Mediadatabase that it re uilds in seconds. I used to have to go out and make & drink a cup of tea whilst waiting! Thanks to everyone for your advice ? Bayla

Thanks for the heads up on that Julie. I'm also going for it! (I have version 9)
Just one thing confusing me, under Edition there is a choice of Standard (£34.99) or Upgrade (£66.43) What is that all about?
