Hi everyone. Thank you for your numerous submissions. They are much appreciated, not only by me, but most importantly by all PSE&M users. Dedication, variety and creativity are the words that come to mind for this edition of our friendly “Images of the Week” feature. Unfortunately, I must choose, even among my own picks and comments. Thank you for allowing me to do so.
The Red Fox, by Lillias

I can’t guaranty that the landscape we see is the real - habitat of the red fox. However, the simple, clean, respectful and lovely presentation leaves no doubt on the message, which is instantly understood. It is all about the greatness of nature and conservation.
Santa and Mo, by Andy

Here is another example of an unequivocal message delivered at first sight. In this case, I would say it is comfort. The choice of the soft pastel sketching treatment adds to the reassuring representation of Santa and the relevance of the composition. The gradual contour offers a smooth transition into the image. And, as a Maurice, I like the name of the cat.
Snowflake Twirl, by Tpgettys

Except maybe for the number six, I can hardly see anything concrete coming out from this image, which is perfectly fine considering its abstract nature. The combination of translucent and solid whites with the use of multiple layers of depths of field as well as different hardness of lines make this twirl special. The cropping puts it in value. If you have spare time to spend, I suggest that you sit in front of this image and start looking at in any different way you can think of. Just for the fun of it. Because it is a fun image.
Lawn Bowls, by dennis9

Through gesture, humanity transcends generations. The extension of one character continues in the extension of the other. The lines of their respective shade seem identical. Naturally, they are going in the same direction. Would these gentlemen be following a common fate despite their apparent differences? This photograph had to be taken. As is. The rules according to which hard sun and chaotic backgrounds should be avoided find no application here.
