A very interesting tutorial by "PiXimperfect" that shows how you can use advanced online AI to colorize black and white photos using the palette.fm/ website. This tutorial will also work with PS Elements. World's Best AI to Color B&W Photos... and it's Free! www.yout-ube.com/watch?v=PO9nv2f0oEwKind regards Chris

Thanks, Chris. Had to give this a quick try. With no further adjustments. I think it did an especially nice job with the skin tones. Original

Putting away Christmas things today. Came across this picture of little me and decided to try palette. I was interested to see how it would handle the color we know would be red.

They came out great, Clive! Did you do any additional work after the initial rendering?

Did you do any additional work after the initial rendering? No, nothing was done. It is a very cool program.

Update. The Palette.fm website now allow one free high definition download. palette.fm/color/filters However, after that, you can only download a free small version with a watermark. The tutorial in the thread introduction will still work. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO9nv2f0oEw But you will need to remove the watermark using the spot healing brush or the clone tool. Coloured layer With watermark: After repair with healing brush The edit does not need to be perfect because the colour layer is set to the "Color" Blend mode. So all the details are taken from the black and white photo and not the Coloured photo. Final Image Kind regards Chris Update: After using Palette.fm yesterday, I later received an e mail from them (Palette.fm) encouraging me to watch the video from PIXimperfect to show how Palette was superior to photoshop! So evidently, they are pleased with his video despite the photoshop work-around he explains. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO9nv2f0oEw

Clive, you haven't changed a bit since 1950.
