Is Topaz Simplify still a popular editing program? I d/l the free trial version yesterday because I'd heard that the Simplify BuzSim option was great to use. But afterwards got error messages when clicking on the d/l file. Then I heard Dave Kelly say on a YouTube video that Topaz S2 could outdo anything Simplify offers, etc. so I finally uninstalled Simplify.
Is anyone here happily using Simplify, and do you agree that Studio 2 makes Simplify sort of unnecessary anymore?

At this time, neither Products that you mentioned are being sold by or supported by Topaz.
Topaz Simplify is a plugin that required a "license key" from Topaz to work. I pretty sure they are not providing any new ones anymore. If you owned the product prior to it being discontinued, your key and software are still available on the Topaz website.
Topaz Studio 2 works as a plugin and was the replacement for a number of Topaz's other plugin, so yes Topaz Studio 2 could outdo anything Topaz Simplify could do.
I don't think that the discontinued Topaz Simplify (from 2009) is still a popular editing program.

Unfortunately, they have also stopped selling Topaz Studio 2. It is unfortunate - I liked a lot of their products (including Simplify). Now they have their few AI products only. Thankfully for me, they still work (I have license keys for them).

Here is some good news ... Topaz still has downloads available if you have a License Key for their plugins. I logged into my Topaz account and clicked on one of my plugins. I was taken to a page explaining their Legacy programs ... so if you have or had one of their plugins and you can still have access to their plugins. Here are two of the notes on the Legacy page regarding Classic Plugins such as Simplify Note: If you purchased these classic plugins/programs in the past, you will need your license key to re-activate your program after you install it. Classic Studio does not require a license key. Note: Many of our legacy programs have been replaced by our new applications. If you own any of these programs, you may be eligible to upgrade to a replacement program for free. You can check for your specific upgrade offers here. Please note that not every program qualifies for a free upgrade even if it was included in a replacement. Your www.topazlabs.com account will specify which free upgrades are available.I still use Simplify and a few other Topaz plugins .... they still work in PSE. Here is my latest use of Adjust (Specify) and Simplify (BuzSim)

I, too, still use some of the legacy programs and have many of them installed in PSCC 2023. Unfortunately, if you didn't purchase them 'back in the day', you will not be able to activate them now, even though you can download and install them. That's the problem you're having with Simplify, Jim. I don't believe S2 outdoes anything Simplify has to offer...it just has some overlap in functionality and, just because something is new, doesn't mean it's better for everyone!
