Our little owl moved to another tree yesterday and it was perched lower with no (few) twigs. Although a few snow flakes came down from time to time, the light was decent. One of our owl triad was out early today and spotted a second one in the immediate area. Hope to get out again on Friday after this New Little Ice Age goes away. Very cold here. Bonus points if you can spot the fake snow flakes in the lower photo. Some are real and some are fake ... added a few with one of the "natural" brushes.

My fav is the first one where he seems to be looking right at you. Fooled me on the added snowflakes. So nice to see him without any distractions....great capture!

Fooled me on the added snowflakes. So nice to see him without any distractions....great capture! Thanks Helen. Pretty easy when they are so close with not twigs in the way. I did remove a small blurred twig in the lower photo. I see a error with the added snowflakes. There are three in the lower left that are in a straightish line. Need to be in a more random arrangement. I'll change that before posting on my own FB page The word "cute" isn't enough, is it?? Thanks cjt. Yes, they are really adorable little owls. The new term is adorbs, which to my surprise is in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary and was added to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) in 2014.

I just read that this word has been added to the new Scrabble dictionary! LOL (...and that word doesn't even begin to describe these little beauties!)

I cringe every time I see it used. HA HA HA HA !!! I sounds silly for sure. So surprised the poohbahs at OED would accept it.
