Well ... I was out yesterday afternoon taking photos of a saw-whet owl, porcupine, bald eagles and assorted small birds. Took 600 photos most of which I have yet to look at and it could be a while. The aurora community was in full frenzy last night. Here. Earth's magnetic field is reverberating from the impact of a CME on Feb. 26th. Its arrival brought a gust of solar wind blowing faster than 800 km/s (the highest value in years), and triggered a G3-class (Strong) geomagnetic storm. I went out at 8 PM and took a few shots of so-so aurora. Around 11:30 I checked an aurora Facebook group and someone who lives nearby had posted "It's great" so I trundled out again and it was a great show. I took a few stills and a videos. The storm was strong. The November 4, 2021 storm was perhaps better, but last night was great and it was the first time here at home, the northern lights were south of me. Our house is south of the park where I took photos and there were aurora above the house. First photo. Overhead (rare here)

What an incredible display, Clive. Thanks for sharing this with us. I've never seen the Aurora 'in person' so this is wonderful for me! I love the last 2 shots over the trees.

Thanks all. It was a good show...probably the second best I've seen where we have lived for 24 years. The foreground is not the best, but it gets full marks for convenience as these were shot just across the road and there is a decent dark sky looking north. The arty aurora photos have old barns or old abandoned houses in the foreground. I am willing to sacrifice artiness for convenience. It could happen again tonight but with any luck it will be cloudy. HA! I need a good sleep.

They look great - apparently they were visible here in the SW corner of Ontario last night which is very unusual. Only time I’ve seen them was when visiting Alberta many moons ago.
